Safety Reminders:

  • If any part of this process is distressful, stop. If it is distressing, this approach is not working. Stop.
  • If other memories are connecting, stop and container them. We work one memory at a time. Other memories wanting to connect indicates overactivation, which needs to be managed.
  • Stay in your calm scene and out of your thoughts.
  • If distress is coming into your calm scene, stop, container that distress and push it 1,000 miles away. Return to the calm scene. If distress continues, stop. Try again later.
  • You try to manage distress by glancing at the memory even faster.
